East Midlands Trains will be joined by Derby County’s President and Chief Executive, Tom Glick, to officially open its new First Class Lounge at Derby station.
The official opening, which will take place on Wednesday 23 September at 15.00, will mark a significant milestone for East Midlands Trains.
Claire Ansley, East Midlands Trains’ Route Manager for Derbyshire explains: “People travelling through Derby station will have already noticed the huge improvements that have already been made as a result of the multi million pound scheme to transform the station. Now the scheme is entering its final stages, we are delighted to be opening a new, improved First Class Lounge back in its original home on platform 6.
“Our aim is to ensure our passengers enjoy their journey with East Midlands Trains from start to finish, and what better way than to start that important trip than a visit to our new First Lounge at Derby where you can connect to your emails, or just relax and catch up on the day’s news with a complimentary newspaper.”
Tom Glick adds: “I frequently use the excellent East Midlands Train service from Derby to St. Pancras Station in London for both business and leisure and now I look forward to starting each trip in the new First Class Lounge. Congratulations to everyone at East Midlands Trains on this enhancement and on yet another big step forward for Derby Station.”
In addition to the opening of the new First Class Lounge at Derby, East Midlands Trains will also be launching a new First Class Lounge season ticket. The season ticket will provide an opportunity for all passengers to use any one of East Midlands Trains First Class lounges, regardless of what train ticket they have bought and will be available on a daily, weekly, monthly or annual basis.
