East Midlands Trains announces plans to run extra Skegness services for Bank Holiday day trippers

Article posted on 19/05/2009

East Midlands Trains has today confirmed plans to provide additional trains between Nottingham and Skegness on Spring Bank Holiday Monday, 25 May.

The additional high speed trains, which will provide hundreds of additional seats throughout the day, will run at the following times:
08.11 from Nottingham to Skegness
14.06 from Nottingham to Skegness
11.24 from Skegness to Nottingham
17.08 from Skegness to Nottingham

These high speed trains will also run on Saturdays throughout the summer, from Saturday 18 July to Saturday 5 September, with a number of other services being strengthened during the busy summer period.

Commenting, David Horne from East Midlands Trains said:

“Following on from the success of last year, when we provided additional trains over the summer months, we’re now very pleased to be running our high speed trains to Skegness for the very first time.

“We know what a popular holiday destination Skegness is, particularly over the summer, and by providing these additional, high capacity trains both on Spring Bank Holiday Monday and on Saturdays throughout the main summer period, we can ensure that even more people can enjoy a trip to the seaside.”
