In advance of this year’s Download Festival, a popular rock music event which runs from Friday 12 to Sunday 14 June at Donington Park, East Midlands Trains is offering important travel advice to visitors.
Festival-goers planning to travel to the event by train are advised to check their train times in advance, and pre-book tickets for travel. This can be done through the website, eastmidlandstrains.co.uk
East Midlands Trains provides regular train services both to Derby station and the newly opened East Midlands Parkway station, located just under nine miles away from Donington Park. Trent Barton will be providing a regular shuttle bus service from Derby and East Midlands Parkway stations, connecting with East Midlands Trains services. Please note, there will be no shuttle bus service provided from Loughborough station, therefore visitors are advised to use Derby and East Midlands Parkway only.
Helen Barley from East Midlands Trains comments:
“With up to 75,000 visitors expected at this year's event, we hope that many people will take advantage of our frequent train services to enjoy a hassle free trip to the festival. And, with our newly opened East Midlands Parkway station conveniently located less than nine miles from Donington Park, we’re confident the train will be a popular choice for this year’s festival-goers”.
