Krazy Kayakers are safely back

Article posted on 06/05/2008

Further to earlier press releases promoting this event the krazy kayakers returned to Sheffield on Saturday 3rd May. Dave Stannard and Adam Plant from East Midlands Trains canoed an amazing 275 miles for charity in just over a week. They made the trip from London to Sheffield to raise money for the premature baby charity BLISS.

The pair arrived at Sheffield Quays (also known as Victoria Quays) at approximately 13.30 on Saturday for an emotional welcome with a kayak ‘armada’ accompanying them into port  and a huge crowd of friends and family cheering them on.

Adam said “I know that money will be put to the very best of use. I don’t mind admitting that this has been the single most difficult experience of my life, it seemed at times like everything was against us, from bad weather to all those dreaded locks, we faced it all and came through it. I’m so proud of what we have achieved. The final total raised for Bliss looks to be around £2,500.”
