More spaces at Chesterfield car park ahead of rail improvement works

Article posted on 03/09/2008

East Midlands Trains and Network Rail are pleased to advise passengers that they are extending the car park at Chesterfield railway station to provide an extra 130 spaces from Monday 8 September.

Commenting, David Horne, Commercial Director for East Midlands Trains, said:

“Network Rail start improvement work on the Bradway Tunnel between Sheffield and Chesterfield on Monday 8 September. This work will continue until December and will mean journey times from Sheffield to London are extended by around nine minutes. Some passengers who usually travel from Sheffield may choose to park at Chesterfield and board the train there during the period of works. These extra spaces will help make that possible.”
