Earlier this month East Midlands Trains invited the public in Sheffield to suggest names for two new business service set to launch in December this year. So far the company has received in excess of 100 names and they are still coming in.
David Horne, Commercial Director for the company says “The response we have seen from people in Sheffield has been fantastic and it’s still not too late as we have over a week until we choose the names. We have seen some really inventive and thoughtful suggestions. Names received so far have reflected the pride the people of Sheffield have not only for their city but also for the role that the railway has played in the city’s development. Picking the winners is going to be extremely difficult.”
East Midlands Trains launches a brand new improved timetable on 14th December 2008. This will see improvements for Sheffield to London passengers with faster journey times and an improved service to the capital.
When this timetable is launched East Midlands Trains will continue to operate its popular named premier business train to London, ‘The Master Cutler’, but will also be running a further two named prestigious business services:
· 06.47ex Sheffield arriving St. Pancras 09.13
· 07.44ex Sheffield arriving St. Pancras 10.06
