Around 3,500 megatrain.com seats, from just £1 will be offered on the East Midlands Trains network weekly.
megatrain.com tickets are available for travel to London from Sheffield, Chesterfield, Derby, Nottingham, Loughborough and Leicester. megatrain.com is an easy to use, ticket-less product that can be purchased from the megatrain.com website or through the telephone booking centre.
East Midlands Trains Managing Director, Tim Shoveller, celebrated the first passengers using these tickets by meeting up with Mr megatrain during his visit to one of the company’s stations yesterday (see picture).
Tim said: “megatrain tickets went on sale mid-December and by Christmas Eve almost one thousand passengers had already bagged themselves an early Christmas present of a ticket to London at a bargain price. But we are committed to offering cheap train tickets all year round, so from now onwards we’ll continue to provide at least 3,500 seats at these crazy prices every single week.”
We see this as an attractive addition to our ticket range, offering passengers more choice and availability when it comes to looking for a ticket to London. By booking early and being flexible about travel plans, thousands of bargain fares are there for the taking”
