David Horne
Managing Director
David joined the railway as a summer relief ticket office clerk in Cornwall in 1988 and continued for 5 summers whilst at university. Since then he has held senior positions at Virgin Trains and within the Stagecoach Group culminating with his appointment as Managing Director at East Midlands Trains in November 2011.

Tim Sayer
Engineering Director
Before joining East Midlands Trains, Tim held senior positions with both GNER and Chiltern Railways. During Tim’s time at East Midlands Trains he has overseen both the construction of a new depot for the Meridian fleet and the refurbishment of all the train fleets we operate. |

Mark Steward
Operations Director
Mark Steward joined East Midlands Trains from National Express where he was Route Director for Silverlink County. He started his 29-year career in Shrewsbury as a train guard and has held senior positions with Merseyrail Electrics, First North Western and Silverlink working in Chester, Liverpool, Manchester and London. |

Tim Gledhill
Finance Director
Tim joined the railway in 2006 having previously held senior Finance roles in the retail and leisure sectors. Tim is responsible for Procurement, Franchise Compliance and the Finance department based in Derby. |

Clare McCartney
Human Resources Director
Clare McCartney joined the rail industry in 2002 on a placement year in HR whilst completing a degree in Business Studies. Her first role was with Midland Mainline as an HR Assistant. |

Ian Smith
Customer Service Director
Ian started his railway career in the East Midlands and has considerable experience in the rail industry. He has held senior positions with ATOC, First Great Western and South West Trains before joining East Midlands Trains. |
