Standard Class on our services to and from London
Sit back, unwind and let our fast train services speed you to London in style. Our Standard Class environment is comfortable and relaxing, so whether you want to catch up on some work, prepare for a meeting or simply switch off, you’ll find our trains are designed with your every comfort in mind. There are at-seat tables for working or resting your coffee on, our carriages are well-lit so you can read easily and, should you wish to have a snooze, you can settle down for some well-earned rest.
Recharge
Our modern Meridian services, which run to London from Sheffield, Derby, Chesterfield, Corby, Kettering, Leicester, Loughborough and Wellingborough, also come equipped with plug points throughout the train – ideal for recharging your laptop, phone or iPod.

WiFi
WiFi is being introduced on all services to and from London and prices in Standard Class will start from only £4 for three hours or £7.50 per day, £40 per month or £299 for an annual pass. WiFi can only be purchased on board.
Wine & dine
Throughout Standard Class we offer a wide variety of hot and cold refreshments from our at-seat trolley service and on-board shop. Choose from tasty sandwiches, tempting cakes, pastries and sweet treats, and a full range of coffees, teas and soft drinks – perfect for refuelling on the go. For those coffee lovers, Starbucks Via is now available to purchase onboard from the trolley service.
Weekend upgrade
On Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays, you can treat yourself to a First Class experience by upgrading your ticket. For only £9 each way, you can travel First Class on our services to and from London and enjoy complimentary tea or coffee from the bar.
New season ticket to access our First Class lounges
Our new season ticket is available to everyone (including standard class passengers and First Advance ticket holders).

Holders of existing First Class tickets (excluding First Advance) continue to receive free access to all our First Class lounges.
Standard on our regional services
Our regional trains offer a Standard Class service from Leicester, Nottingham, Derby, Sheffield and Lincoln. We provide comfortable, convenient, safe travel across the East Midlands and beyond and have begun an extensive refurbishment programme on our Liverpool, Manchester and Sheffield trains. We offer a limited number of Advance tickets for services on our Liverpool to Norwich route.
