Trains from Leicester to London – fast train services

Leicester station is currently undergoing station improvements, including:
- Improvements to the station entrance, providing a new customer area and four new retail units
- Renewal of staircases leading to platforms
- Installation of a canopy over the staircases from the platforms to the station car park providing shelter
During these improvements there will be disruption to the station entrance area, disabled parking and short stay parking have been relocated to the main station car park in Campbell Street so please allow extra time at the station.
Leicester station taxi rank
The taxi rank at Leicester station has temporarily moved due to the ongoing redevelopment work. The temporary taxi rank is now located next to Tesco on Conduit Street, which can be accessed by turning left on exiting the station, heading up London Road and taking the first left onto Conduit Street which is a 2 minute walk away. The drop off area is still in operation however there may be temporary closures in place after 2000 in the evenings.
Leicester train connections
There are now two services every hour for trains to Sheffield and trains to Chesterfield. East Midlands Trains also connects Leicester to a range of destinations across the UK including Derby, Loughborough and Nottingham. Also available are cheap train tickets to Lincoln and East Midlands Parkway, which offers a frequent Railink bus service to East Midlands Airport – all accessible via Leicester.
