Photography and filming

Our network plays host to a wealth of locations, including trains, platforms and stations, that can be used for commercial photography and filming.

Photography at stations

If you require access to an East Midlands Trains station for commercial photography, prior permission must be sought. Please contact us or 01738 442111 for permission covering stations we operate. Please note that some stations on the UK rail network are managed by Network Rail who would be responsible for providing permissions in such circumstances.

For rail enthusiasts, please see gudiance on station access for photography.

No prior permission is required for personal use photos, but we ask that you make a team member aware of your presence and act responsibly and safely at all times.

Filming at stations

We have a dedicated website for commercial filming requests that showcases our locations.

Political campaigning

A general election has been called for Thursday 8th June 2017. In the run up to the election we expect to receive a number of queries from candidates requesting to canvass at our stations. For this reason we thought the below guidance would be of use.

Stagecoach Group policy on political campaigning at stations/on board trains

  • Political activity is not permitted under any circumstances within any Stagecoach premises or on board any Stagecoach train services.
  • Canvassing, leafleting and related activities can take place outside of each of the stations and in an area that does not cause obstruction to passengers. Activity of this nature cannot take place inside the stations, either in the concourse area or on the platforms.  If passenger complaints are received, candidates will be politely asked to stop.
  • Photo opportunities involving local politicians and/or candidates are also not permitted at any time without prior agreement from the Group Communications team.
  • As with all other news filming requests, all filming opportunities must go through the Group Communications team. Prior agreement must be obtained if campaign teams want to invite broadcasters or photographers onto our property to film as they arrive or depart from our train stations. Failure to do so could result in the crew being asked to leave the station.
  • Posters and marketing material of a political nature must not be displayed at stations or on our services.

Anybody travelling as part of a political party tour will need to have a valid ticket to travel.

If you have any further questions or need clarification on any part of this policy, please contact the media team via:
