Christmas Travel Arrangements

 

Over the Christmas period we have essential route improvement work so that the upgrade to track and signalling equipment can be made to offer a faster and more reliable journey.  Our trains between Sheffield, Nottingham & London are affected as well as our trains between Liverpool, Manchester, Nottingham & Norwich.

 

From Saturday 23rd December 

Sheffield/Nottingham/London Route

On Saturday 23rd December until Tuesday 2nd January, fewer trains will run to/from London St Pancras International with no direct train service between Corby and London St Pancras.  Rail replacement buses will run between Corby & Kettering.

Kettering – Rail Replacement buses will depart from Northfield Avenue, next to the corner shop:

Corby – Rail Replacement buses will depart from the front of the station.

Christmas Eve Sunday 24th December

Liverpool/Nottingham/Norwich Route

On Sunday 24th December.  Our trains will run between Manchester Piccadilly & Peterbourgh and between Norwich & Ely.   They will not be calling at Stockport.

  • Rail replacement buses will operate between Manchester Piccadilly & Warrington and between Peterborough & Norwich.

Rail Replacement pick up points

Manchester Piccadilly – Rail Replacement buses will depart from outside the main entrance.  For more information about this station you can contact Network Rail.

Warrington Central – Rail Replacement buses will depart from the front of the station.  For more information about this station you can contact Northern.

Peterborough – Rail Replacement buses will depart from the station forecourt.  For more information about this station you can contact Virgin Trains East Coast. 

Ely - Rail Replacement buses will depart from the station forecourt.  For more information about this station you can contact Greater Anglia.

You are also able to use your East Midlands Trains ticket between Warrington and Liverpool Lime Street on Transpennine and Northern services.

Wednesday 27th December until Monday 1st January 2018

Off peak and super off peak restrictions will be relaxed as we will be running a relaxed weekday service with a buffet service for standard and first class.

Liverpool/Nottingham/Norwich Route

On Wednesday 27th December.  Our trains will start/terminate at Liverpool South Parkway. 

  • Customers to/from Liverpool City Centre should transfer to Merseyrail train services between Liverpool South Parkway and Moorfields.
