We've started to make big improvements to your railway which means you may experience some disruption whilst we carry out the work.
Route improvement work will be taking place on our London route over 4 weekends in February 2018. This is so essential work to upgrade the track and signalling equipment can be made to offer a faster and more reliable service.
In addition work will be carried out between Kettering and Corby on weekdays between Monday 19th and Friday 23rd February. This work will allow more trains to run on the route in the future.
On Monday 19th to Friday 23rd February Network Rail will be carrying out essential work between Kettering and Corby which will allow more trains to run on this route in the future.
Express shuttle buses will replace trains between Kettering and Corby from Monday 19th and Friday 23rd February. Buses will connect with trains to/from London St Pancras International at Kettering.
The following trains will also be ammended:
The 06:00 Melton Mowbray to London St Pancras will start from Kettering at 0645 and will not call at Melton Mowbray, Oakham or Corby a rail replacement bus will run departing Melton Mowbray at 0503 and Oakham at 0534.
0930 Corby to Derby This train will not run. You will be able to travel on one of our replacement bus services to Kettering where you should change for trains to Derby.
1636 Derby to London St Pancras International This train will start from Kettering at 1823 and will not call at Derby, East Midlands Parkway, Melton Mowbray, Oakham or Corby. A Rail replacement bus service will depart Oakham at 1712 to connect with the 1823 train at Kettering. If you are travelling from Melton Mowbray you should change at Leicester for stations to London St Pancras.
1800 London St Pancras International to Melton Mowbray This train will terminate at Kettering and will no longer call at Corby, Oakham and Melton Mowbray. A rail replacement bus service will run departing Kettering at 1910, Corby at 1931 and Oakham 2012.
Corby Station will be open during the period of the improvement work, customers will still be able to collect pre booked tickets and our team will be on hand to assist customers.
We aim to provide accessible buses where we can. There may be circumstances when we cannot accept bicycles, heavy luggage, prams which do not fold and animals (apart from registered assistance dogs).

On Saturday 24th February there are no direct trains to and from London St Pancras International and the north. This is so essential work to upgrade the track and signalling equipment can be made to offer a faster and more reliable.
If you are travelling Southbound
Our trains from Sheffield / Derby and Nottingham will terminate at Leicester; there will be then be an express rail replacement bus between Leicester and Bedford where you can then connect with a train from Bedford to Luton / Luton Airport Parkway and London St Pancras International. There will also be rail replacement buses if you are travelling to Market Harborough, Kettering and Wellingborough. If you are travelling from Corby there will be a rail replacement bus between Corby and Kettering where you can connect with a bus to Bedford.
If you are travelling Northbound
Our trains from London St Pancras International will terminate at Bedford, an express rail replacement bus will run between Bedford and Leicester where you can then connect with trains to Nottingham / Derby / Sheffield. There will also be rail replacement buses at Bedford if you are travelling to Wellingborough, Kettering and Market Harborough. If you are travelling to Corby, there will be a rail replacement bus between Bedford and Kettering where you can change for a bus to Corby.

You are also able to use your East Midlands Trains ticket between London St Pancras and Bedford on Thameslink services.

We advise that tickets are posted via Recorded Delivery to ensure your tickets arrive safely. If they have not yet been collected and were bought online, you can request a refund by logging into My Account and going to the Order Status and Refund applications section. Please note the the conditions of some tickets may mean that they cannot be refunded.
If bought at a station, they need to be returned to the relevant station ticket office, which will process the refund.
