Major improvement work is affecting East Midlands Trains services between 28th May and 3rd June 2019

What's happening?

A major upgrade of the station and railway Market Harborough will be taking place between 28th May and 3rd June.

This work forms part of the Midland Mainline upgrade and will deliver quicker peak time services, better parking, longer platforms, and improved facilities for people with mobility issues. For more information regarding these works click here:

In order to keep your railway open Network Rail are doing as much work as possible ahead of 28th May. From Sunday 24th February the work site will be extended meaning toilets on platform 1 at Market Harborough will be unavailable. There will be like for like temporary replacements located close to the front of the station building. 

How will this affect my journey?

The major work to renew Market Harborough will result in some changes to train services running through the station. Due to the extent of the works a revised timetable will be in place between Sheffield/Nottingham and London St Pancras, journey times will be extended by 30-40 minutes as trains follow a different route to usual. 

There will also be a revised timetable between Sheffield/Chesterfield to Derby and London St Pancras, with fewer trains able to run during the works.
