“Barrow Hill Live!” – A Model Railway Show With A Difference – Celebrating 160 Years of Doncaster Works at Barrow Hill Roundhouse

It may have a new name but this model railway show with a difference is back for a fourth year, with the samepopular mix of full size steam and diesel locomotives and their model counterparts in the widest possible range of gauges.
We are delighted to announce that this year’s event will be supported by Bachmann, British Railway Modelling and East Midlands Trains.
Taking place at Barrow Hill Roundhouse on Saturday 28th and Sunday 29th September, the event will also celebrate 160 years of Doncaster Works by bringing together a range of steam and diesel locomotives that all have links with the world famous Plant.
Guest steam locomotives will include A1 60163 ‘Tornado’ and B1 61264, both of these classes of locomotive having been designed, built and maintained at Doncaster. We are pleased to welcome back the B1 to the Roundhouse for the first time since its overhaul, much of which took place here. These will be joined by our resident Doncaster-designed locomotives A2 60532 ‘Blue Peter’ and the Atlantic 251. Representatives of Doncaster’s diesel building era will include Class 03, Class 58, Class 71 and Class 85. Diesels maintained at Doncaster and also present at the event will include Classes 20, 31, 37, 50 and 55. More visiting Doncaster related locomotives will be announced in the run up to the event.
