Disruption between Lincoln and Doncaster Wednesday 05 December

Train services continue to be replaced by buses between Lincoln and Doncaster on Wednesday 05 December.
Emergency services have been dealing with an incident near Finningley, South Yorkshire in which a train was in collision with a car at a level crossing.  The incident happened at approximately 12.35 on Tuesday 4 December and involved the 11.54 East Midlands Trains service from Lincoln to Doncaster.  The train remained upright on the tracks at all times. 
  • Trains were unable to run between Lincoln and Doncaster.
  • Buses replaced trains on this route.
David Horne, Managing Director for East Midlands Trains said: "Our first priority and thoughts are for those involved in the incident.  Our staff ensured that passengers were safely escorted from the train and these passengers will be taken forward to Doncaster by alternative road transport."
"We will work with Network Rail and the British Transport Police to ensure those involved in this incident are given every assistance." 
"Safety is our absolutely priority and we will do everything in our power to assist the investigation into identifying the cause of the incident."
