EAST MIDLANDS TRAINS SERVICES RETURN TO NORMAL FOLLOWING INFRASTRUCTURE DAMAGE AT ALLINGTON

East Midlands Trains has confirmed that its services between Nottingham and Grantham have returned to normal today (22 July). This follows the partial collapse of a bridge wing wall at Allington on Thursday evening, causing damage to the infrastructure.

A spokesperson for East Midlands Trains said:  "Network Rail engineers have been working around the clock to get the infrastructure damage repaired so that we could resume our normal service.  We would like to thank Network Rail and praise them for the speed in which they have carried out these repair works.

"We apologise for any passengers who have experienced inconvenience as a result of disruption to our services, however we are pleased to have worked in partnership with Network Rail to re-open the line as quickly as possible."
