East Midlands Trains opens up its First Class lounges to all passengers

All East Midlands Trains passengers can now have the opportunity to use one of the company’s relaxing First Class lounges, thanks to the launch of a new First Class lounge season ticket.

Available to all East Midlands Trains passengers, regardless of the train ticket they have bought, the First Class lounge season ticket will be available on a daily, weekly, monthly and annual basis. Priced at just £15 for a weekly ticket, it will provide access to any one of East Midlands Trains four First Class lounges, which are located at London St. Pancras International, Leicester, Derby and Nottingham stations.

Gareth Leslie, Route Manager for East Midlands Trains explains:  “With the recent launch of the new lounge at Nottingham, we now have four First Class lounges across our network and we want to give even more people the opportunity to take advantage of the great facilities these lounges offer.

“Our aim is to ensure that every passenger enjoys their journey with East Midlands Trains from start to finish.  We believe that a visit to one of our First Class lounges, where you can connect to emails, or just relax and catch up on the day’s news with a complimentary newspaper will be really beneficial to all of our passengers”.

East Midlands Trains First Class lounges are open from Monday to Friday and all offer complimentary tea and coffee, WiFi access, newspapers and snacks.  Opening hours vary for each lounge and passengers are advised to check the opening times at their local lounge.  First Class lounges are available at no additional cost to the following ticket holders: First Inclusive, First Plus Breakfast, First Plus Parking, First Anytime and First Off Peak.

To celebrate the launch of the new First Class lounge season ticket, a special event is being held at St. Pancras International on Wednesday 23 September.  Gareth continues: “We are keen to give everybody the opportunity to have a look in our First Class lounge at St. Pancras, and find out more about the new season ticket.  We’ll therefore be holding a special ‘drop-in’ cheese and wine event, which will take place between 14.00 and 20.00 on all East Midlands Trains passengers are welcome to drop in and find out more over a glass of wine.”

First Class lounge season tickets will be available to buy at any booking office and are priced at £5 per day, £15 per week, £50 per month and £480 a year.  The season ticket provides unlimited access into East Midlands Trains four First Class lounges during their hours of opening.
