Extra staff on board on trains to and from London to provide enhanced customer experience
Complimentary First Class breakfast available on new Saturday trains
New hot breakfast items in Standard Class
Full breakfast available on service between London and Sheffield for the first time
East Midlands Trains will be rolling out more improvements for its First Class customers from today (Monday 14 December) by increasing the number of trains where a complimentary full breakfast is available.
East Midlands Trains launched its First Class complimentary breakfast in October 2014 and hundreds of customers every day can choose from a range of options including the Great British Breakfast, a long running favourite amongst East Midlands Trains customers.
Following the success of the complimentary breakfast, East Midlands Trains will be rolling this out on a new northbound service, and from today (14 December), First Class customers travelling on the 08.56 service from London St Pancras to Sheffield will be offered a complimentary full breakfast for the first time.
In addition, from Saturday 19 December, the freshly cooked Great British Breakfast will be offered to all First Class customers travelling on the following Saturday services (for no extra charge on their ticket) for the first time:
06.34 Leeds to London St Pancras (via Nottingham)
07.29 Sheffield to London St Pancras
08.29 Sheffield to London St Pancras
Extra customer hosts have been recruited who will help to provide an enhanced First Class service on trains to London.
Customers travelling in Standard Class will also benefit from a range of new hot breakfast items from the cafe on board, including bacon ciabatta rolls, sausage rolls and a range of other hot options throughout the day.
Adrian Allen, Service Proposition Manager for East Midlands Trains, said: “It’s really important to us that we do everything possible to improve the service our customers receive. The launch of the complimentary breakfast at the end of 2014 has been hugely popular with our customers and we’ve had some great feedback.
“We’ve been looking at how we can improve this even further, so are delighted to be extending the free breakfast offer across a number of services on Saturdays, meaning that customers choosing to travel to London in First Class can get their trip off to a great start.
“Customers will also notice improvements in many other areas, with an improved breakfast menu in the cafe on board and additional staff on trains.”
