  • Extra services and more carriages to help customers enjoy Lincoln Christmas Market
  • Extra trains and staff on hand Friday through to Sunday
  • Leave the car at home and travel with East Midlands Trains

East Midlands Trains will provide more than 50,000 seats for customers travelling to the world famous Lincoln Christmas Market this December.

The Market takes place between December 3rd and December 6th and is expected to attract thousands of visitors to the medieval square and city centre to soak up the sights and sounds of one of the country’s most popular Christmas attractions.

Kirsty Green, Lincoln Area Station Manager for East Midlands Trains, said: “Lincoln Christmas Market is one of the most popular events anywhere on our network and we are delighted to help play our part in bringing thousands of visitors to the city throughout the weekend.

“We are providing more than 50,000 seats to make it as easy as possible for visitors from far and wide to enjoy the sights and sounds of the medieval square and city centre. We’ll also have extra staff on hand to help customers at many stations.

“This is one of our favourite events and we hope customers will take the opportunity to travel with East Midlands Trains and have a fantastic day out.”

Customers are strongly advised to use the additional services for travelling to and from the Christmas Market and book tickets in advance to avoid queues at ticket machines and ticket offices on the day. Queuing systems will also be in place at key stations and customers should try to leave extra time to complete their journey.

Group bookings and reservations  will not be available on journeys to/from Lincoln on Friday 3rd and Saturday 4th December.
