· Rail industry working in partnership to provide more capacity for fans East Midlands Trains has confirmed plans to provide almost 500 extra seats for fans travelling by train to the Peterborough vs Norwich FA cup tie on Saturday 5 January.
The 11.57 service from Norwich to Peterborough will have double the normal capacity and will operate as a four-carriage train. The 17.39 service returning to Norwich after the game will be a six-carriage train with over 300 extra seats available.
Neil Micklethwaite, Customer Service & Commercial Director for East Midlands Trains, said: “We know that this will be a memorable day for all Norwich City fans and we want to make sure their trip to Peterborough gets off to a great start. We’ve therefore been working closely with our colleagues at Greater Anglia to provide the maximum extra capacity possible for fans travelling to the game by rail.
“We’ll be providing extra seats on the main services between Norwich and Peterborough before and after the match and will have around 500 extra seats available for fans.”
In addition to the extra capacity provided by East Midlands Trains, a special Norwich City Supporters train will be provided by Greater Anglia. Passengers holding tickets for travel with East Midlands Trains tickets will be able to travel on this special train.
