New park, ride and save offer for East Midlands Parkway station

East Midlands Trains is calling on the public to ditch their cars and make use of a new great value park and ride offer being launched today.

The new park and ride offer, which is available for travel from the new East Midlands Parkway station to Nottingham, Loughborough, Derby and Leicester, is priced from just £6.50 for an off peak day return, and from £7.50 for an anytime day return.  The new park and ride package combines a parking and train travel ticket.

Commenting, Karl Nevitt, Route Manager for East Midlands Trains said:

“We know that many people hate the idea of driving into a busy city centre and trying to find a car parking space in a busy and expensive city-centre car park.  Therefore, with our new park and ride offer, not only are we giving people the opportunity to avoid that hassle and benefit from huge cost savings, but also to experience one of the newest and most environmentally friendly stations in the country”.

East Midlands Parkway station, which opened on 26 January 2009 is situated just off the A453 at Ratcliffe-on-Soar, just one mile from Junction 24 of the M1. More than 100 East Midlands Trains services call at the station every day, with trains to and from London every 15-20 minutes at peak times, taking just 90 minutes to get there.
