The new website of North Staffordshire Community Rail Partnership, www.northstaffsrail.org.uk, is now live.
The website features information about the partnership’s many projects to develop the North Staffordshire Line (Crewe-Stoke-Derby rail route).
The work of its award-winning volunteers and many community supporters, including schools and businesses, is highly profiled to illustrate the committed support this provides to the partnership and the impact it has made towards improving route stations for passengers.
Through www.northstaffsrail.org.uk visitors can also access details on how to apply to East Midlands Trains to become a volunteer at their local station.
Also featured is detailed information about the route, stations, onward travel destinations and timetables and local tourist attractions. There are also links to funding partner websites, including eastmidlandstrains.co.uk, and also to National Rail Enquiries.
Michael Willmot, partnership Chairman, said: “As well as providing visitors with information about using the North Staffordshire Line, www.northstaffsrail.org.uk also serves to share ideas and raise awareness of community rail, which brings real benefits to local rail lines.
Through illustrating the dedication of our volunteers, we also hope it will encourage more people to volunteer and support their local station; we are currently looking for new volunteers to join the teams at Alsager, Blythe Bridge and Longton stations, so please get in touch with us.”
The North Staffordshire Community Rail Partnership has raised over £800,000-worth of investment for the Crewe-Stoke-Derby route, which has provided new waiting facilities, customer information, CCTV and cycle parking at stations. Partnership projects and volunteers have won many awards including the national Association of Community Rail Partnerships (ACoRP) Outstanding Teamwork Award 2013.
