Safe parking awards for East Midlands Trains car parks

East Midlands Trains has announced today that 17 of its car parks have received the prestigious Park Mark Award for safer parking.   The Award, which is awarded by the Safer Parking Scheme, looks to recognise those car parks which have low crime figures and recognised security measures, including good lighting and vegetation management.

Commenting, Arthur Pretorius, Head of Stations for East Midlands Trains said:

“We recognise that safety and security is a key priority for passengers using our stations and it’s great that we now have this official accreditation to prove just how safe our car parks are”.

Park Mark Awards have been granted for station car parks at Alfreton, Beeston, Burton (2 car parks), Chesterfield, Derby (3 car parks), Hinckley, Kettering (2 car parks), Leicester, Lincoln, Loughborough, Melton Mowbray, Market Harborough and Spalding.  On giving the awards, assessors commented that these stations had “well managed car parks”.

The Park Mark Safer Parking Award is awarded by the Safer Parking Scheme, which is run by the Association of Chief Police Officers, supported by the Home Office and managed by the British Parking Association.
