Famous Nottingham chef, Sat Bains, has planned a special breakfast dish for guests travelling to London St Pancras with East Midlands Trains for the Nottingham in Parliament Day events.
A delegation of around 50 local celebrities, civic dignitaries and business people will be travelling on the 06.30 East Midlands Trains service from Nottingham to London on Tuesday 25 October to join the events taking place at Westminster for the inaugural Nottingham in Parliament Day.
They will be treated to a special breakfast dish created by Sat Bains, and cooked up by Ricki Weston, who is Senior Chef de Partie at Sat Bains two Michelin Starred Nottingham restaurant. Sat’s dish of Baked Eggs with Chorizo and Coriander will replace the normal breakfast served up by East Midlands Trains for selected guests to mark the special Nottingham themed day.
Sarah Turner, General Manager for East Midlands Trains, said: “We’re hugely excited to be involved in the first Nottingham in Parliament Day and it’s great that we’re serving up a special and unique breakfast dish on one of our trains to mark the occasion.
“The Great British Breakfast we serve on board our trains is very popular with our customers but it’s such a fantastic opportunity to have Sat Bains providing a special dish for Nottingham in Parliament Day and I’m sure it will get the day off to a great start!
“As one of the most important cities on our network, we’re pleased to be helping to promote Nottingham and the excellent rail links to our capital.”
Sat Bains added: "This is one of my own favourite breakfasts. The delegates will have been up really early on Tuesday for the 6.30am train so will need something substantial to keep them going. The creamy texture of the baked organic eggs with the spicy chorizo and just a hint of coriander salt - that we make here at the restaurant - is just a perfect start to the day. I hope they enjoy!"
Nottingham in Parliament Day is a one-day take-over of Westminster on the 25th October 2016. The day will be an opportunity to showcase the businesses, institutions and people that make Nottingham and Nottinghamshire great.
The day features events in and around the Houses of Parliament, with high-profile speakers from the worlds of politics, business, sports and entertainment flying the flag for Nottingham and Nottinghamshire.
East Midlands Trains is partnering up with Nottingham in Parliament Day to provide train travel to London for guests. The delegation will be travelling on the 06.30 from Nottingham to London and returning on the 22.00.
