News from East Midlands Trains


Service Changes - Saturday 7 & Sunday 8 September 2013

Buses are replacing trains between Nottingham, Newark Castle and Lincoln until Monday 9 September because of a derailed freight train at Carlton.

Train services are expected to resume on Monday 9 September 2013 following the completion of repairs to damaged track after a freight train derailment near Carlton.

Due to a short-term issue with staff availability, we will be unable to run some train services as planned on Sunday 8 September 2013. 

In summary we will be unable to run some train services on the following routes;

  • Nottingham - Grantham - Skegness.
  • Nottingham - Peterborough - Norwich.
  • Nottingham - Sheffield - Manchester - Liverpool.

The train alterations will be available from Saturday morning and you will be able to check your journey using our journey planner on the homepage here.

East Midlands Trains tickets will be valid on board Northern & First Trans Pennine Express services in both directions between Sheffield, Manchester & Liverpool. Tickets will also be valid on East Coast services between Doncaster, Grantham & Peterborough.
