As the Olympic Flame makes its way through the East Midlands region, and with the start of the 2012 Games less than 30 days away, train operator East Midlands Trains is reminding people to book their 2012 Games Train Tickets.
East Midlands Trains is still offering London 2012 spectators the opportunity to take advantage of some great value rail tickets. These special train tickets, which can only be booked through www.nationalrailgamestravel.co.uk, offer discounted fares exclusively to Olympic and Paralympic ticket holders. The special rail fares have also recently been opened up to Games volunteers to travel to and from London and other co-host cities.
The 2012 Games Train Tickets are designed to allow more flexibility by allowing spectators to change the time they return should an event be unexpectedly rescheduled, or if they simply wish to remain longer.
Examples of 2012 Games trains advance fares still available include:
These prices will be even lower for spectators with a Railcard, who will be able to get at least a third off any 2012 Games train fare.
Marc Turley, Head of Commercial for East Midlands Trains, said: “With less than 30 days to go until the Games, we know that many people will now be thinking ahead to their journey to London.
“There are still some great value tickets available for people to buy at www.nationalrailgamestravel.co.uk, and we’d urge any 2012 Games spectators to book their train tickets through this website as soon as possible.
“For many people, this really will be a once in a lifetime opportunity and we want to ensure that any spectators travelling to the Games take advantage of the special tickets we have made available.”
East Midlands Trains will be running five extra late night trains every day during the Games and will be providing almost 50,000 extra seats for passengers.
