Royal Wedding watchers travelling with East Midlands Trains on Friday, wanting to celebrate in real style can upgrade to First Class luxury on board for just £9 each way.

East Midlands Trains has today announced the special rate for passengers wishing to upgrade their ticket and with plenty of tickets still available for Friday, there’s still chance for people to join in with the celebrations.

David Horne, Customer Service Director for East Midlands Trains, said:  “We know that many people will be taking advantage of the extra bank holiday to take a trip to London to watch the wedding in its full glory and have already booked their tickets to travel with us.  

“We want people to have an extra-special start to the day of celebrations and what better way than to upgrade to First Class on the train for just £9 each way!  With luxurious seats and free WiFi available for people to keep track of the latest Kate and Wills’ updates whilst travelling to London, it’s a great opportunity to have a First Class day out.

East Midlands Trains will be running a full service to and from London on the day of the Royal Wedding, and tickets are still available priced as follows:

  • Sheffield to London – from £50 return 
  • Derby to London – from £46 return 
  • Nottingham to London – from £44 return 
  • Leicester to London – from £41 return 
  • Corby/Kettering/Wellingborough – from £28 return

Prices quoted are for Standard Class tickets booked in advance online at  Advance tickets can be bought up to 18.00 the day before travel.

First Class upgrades are available when joining the train for £9 each way for any passenger holding a Standard Class ticket.
