Weekend Services

Bedford

 

East Midlands Trains services will no longer call at Bedford during peak periods. This includes:

●  Southbound - after the 0538 departure from Bedford, no other trains will call at Bedford until the 1013 departure from Bedford to London
●  Northbound - the last off-peak train that will call at Bedford will be the 1547 from London. After the evening peak, the first train that will call at Bedford will be the 1904 from London

On weekdays, some off-peak departure times will change too:

Bedford to London

Trains at 17 and 47 minutes past will be at 23 and 13 minutes past.

London to Bedford

Trains at 01 and 29 minutes past will be at 47 and 05 minutes past.

Travelling northbound

East Midlands Trains services will continue to run from Bedford to the north during morning peak and off peak hours, including weekends.

If you’re travelling northbound from Bedford on an East Midlands Trains service during evening peak hours, you’ll need to use our bus service to Wellingborough. From Wellingborough you can connect onto a train service to your destination.

Bus service

The bus service between Bedford and Wellingborough offers air conditioning, free Wi-Fi and town centre stops.

East Midlands Trains season ticket holders travelling via the bus service will be offered up to 50% discount and there will be up to a 25% reduction on anytime fares for travel on the bus. If you have already bought a season ticket, please contact CSC.manager@eastmidlandstrains.co.uk to arrange your partial refund.

Your discount will automatically be applied to tickets bought after 20th May 2018.

Thameslink services

Thameslink will also introduce a new timetable from 20th May, offering extra services to London.

There’ll be regular Thameslink services from Bedford with a number of faster services throughout peak times.

These will depart Bedford at: 0622, 0652, 0722, 0752, 0822 and 0852.

The faster services in the evening will depart St Pancras at: 1621, 1651, 1721, 1751, 1821 and 1851.

Chesterfield

 

There are a few changes at Chesterfield station. For weekday travellers, some off-peak departure times will change:

Chesterfield to London

The train at 01 minute past will be at 12 minuntes past.

London to Chesterfield

Trains at 26 and 58 minutes past will be at 31 and 02 minutes past.

 

Other key changes:

● the 1712 service will no longer stop at Kettering
●  the 1812 service will no longer stop at Belper

Corby

 

There are a few changes at Corby station. For weekday travellers, some off-peak departure times will change:

Corby to London

The train at 16 minutes past will be at 41 minutes past.

London to Corby

The train at 16 minutes past will be at 47 minutes past.

Changes to journey times

●  The 0828 service from Kettering to London will be 18 minutes quicker.
●  The 1605 (was 1629) service from London to Kettering will be 5 minutes quicker.
●  The 1847 (was 1900) to from London to Kettering will be 16 minutes quicker.

Other key changes

The 1700 service from Sheffield to London will no longer stop at Kettering. An extra stop will be added in 1839 service from Nottingham to London.

A new service will depart from Kettering to Sheffield on weekdays at 1810, calling at Leicester, Loughborough, East Midlands Parkway, Long Eaton, Derby and Chesterfield.

During off-peak times there will continue to be two trains an hour from London to Kettering. To reduce the gap in service from London between 2005 and 2130, we have made a temporary change to enable the 2119 London to Nottingham train to leave at the earlier time of 2105 and call additionally at Luton Airport Parkway, Bedford, Wellingborough and Kettering. Network Rail is processing this change and it will appear in journey planning systems soon. We are looking for a more comprehensive solution to this gap to apply from the December 2018 timetable change.

Leicester

London St Pancras International

 

●  Some journey times will be quicker, and some will be extended

●  There will be changes to our departure times from some stations on our London route

●  The changes to the London timetable may mean that connections onto some of our local routes or other operators’ services won’t be the same

●  Some other train operators on our network are also making significant changes to their timetables from 20th May 2018. This could impact on your journey so check before you travel

Long Eaton

 

There are a few changes at Long Eaton station. For weekday travellers, some off-peak departure times will change:

Long Eaton to London

The train at 30 minutes past will be at 40 minutes past.

London to Long Eaton

The train at 26 minutes past will be at 31 minutes past.

Loughborough

 

There are a few changes at Loughborough station. For weekday travellers, some off-peak departure times will change:

Loughborough to London

Trains at 21 and 42 minutes past will be at 27 and 52 minutes past.

London to Loughborough

Trains at 26 and 29 minutes past will be at 31 and 05 minutes past.

Luton

 

East Midlands Trains services will no longer call at Luton during peak periods. This includes:

●  Southbound - after the 0627 departure from Luton to London, no other trains will call at Luton until the 1028 departure from Luton to London
●  Northbound - the last off-peak train that will call at Luton will be the 1547 from London. After the evening peak, the first train that will call at Luton will be the 1904 from London

On weekdays, some off-peak departure times will change too:

Luton to London

Trains at 03 minutes past will be at 28 minutes past.

London to Luton

Trains at 01 minute past will be at 47 minutes past.

Travelling northbound

If you’re travelling northbound from Luton on an East Midlands Trains service during evening peak hours, you can double back to Luton Airport Parkway on a Thameslink service, then connect onto an East Midlands Trains service to your destination station.

Customers wishing to travel to Luton during the peak hours should use Thameslink services.

Thameslink services

Thameslink will also introduce a new timetable from 20th May, offering extra services to London.

There’ll continue to be regular Thameslink services from Luton with a number of faster services throughout peak times, also calling at Luton and St Albans.

The faster services will depart Luton at: 0639, 0709, 0739, 0809, 0839 and 0909.

The faster services in the evening will depart St Pancras at: 1621, 1651, 1721, 1751, 1821 and 1851.

Luton Airport Parkway

 

There are a few changes at Luton Airport Parkway station. For weekday travellers, some off-peak departure times will change:

Luton Airport Parkway to London

The train at 32 minutes past is now at 39 minutes past.

London to Luton

The train at 29 minutes past is now at 05 minutes past.

If you use East Midlands Trains services between Bedford, Luton and Luton Airport Parkway at peak times, you’ll need to take a Thameslink service instead.

We will continue to call at Luton Airport Parkway.

1800 (was 1738) service from Sheffield to London will no longer stop at Belper. A Belper stop will be added to the 1729 service from Sheffield.

Bus from Wellingborough to Bedford

We’ll no longer be stopping at Bedford station during morning and evening peak times.

Instead, you will need to use our bus service, which will offer air conditioning, free Wi-Fi and town centre stops. It will depart from the roundabout, just next to Wellingborough station car park.

East Midlands Trains season ticket holders travelling to Bedford via the bus service will be offered a discount of up to 50% and there will be up to a 25% reduction on anytime fares for travel on the bus. If you’ve already bought a season ticket for travel to Bedford, please contact CSC.manager@eastmidlandstrains.co.uk to arrange your partial refund.
