While works will deliver important benefits and step-free access at the station, there will be some disruption for passengers during the construction phase, which will include:
- Reduced car parking capacity/limited car parking at the station
- The underpass at the station may be out of use temporarily for certain periods during construction, however access to rail services will be maintained at all times

Services towards Liverpool : From entrance onto Manchester platform, turn left and down 26 steps, through an underpass (28 paces) and up 28 steps onto the platform.
